Writing

Do you have a writing project you would like me to work on? I am available to contract for individual or group contribution work on a contract basis. Rate is highly dependent on project. I am happy to work on projects in poetry, fiction, non-fiction, scripts for stage and screen, and interactive storytelling.

Mentoring & Writing Coach

I love working with writers on their writing journey, whether you just need someone to keep you accountable or whether you’re looking for someone to help you work through issues of process or prose. I offer a sliding scale with a midrange market rate of $80/hr. I am always willing to work with someone to work within their budget, so don’t hesitate to reach out!

Teaching

I have a whole range of fun classes that are primed and ready to teach at a moment’s notice, and have taught multiple times in the past. Feel free to peruse the list below. I also love creating new classes and am always happy to dig into a topic you need specifically. I regularly teach youth ages 8 and up, with an emphasis on teenagers, and routinely teach for mixed classrooms from 2nd grade through 12th. I also love teaching for adults, and do so regularly through a mix of organizations like Clarion West and the local community colleges. I am adept at both virtual and in-person instruction. Rates vary greatly depending on whether I am traveling to a site, how many students, and how long you would like the class to be, but I can work within your budget!

  • Building Blocks of Romance Writing or Writing Happily Ever After (this can be focused on contemporary, fantasy/sci-fi, or open for both)

  • Ergodic Literature and Nonlinear Storytelling
  • Revision is Your Best Friend
  • Tool specific classes on things like Worldbuilding, Plotting, Characters, etc.

Girl Scout Badge Workshops

If you are looking for someone to run Girl Scout badge workshops, I have you covered! I am a lifetime member of Girl Scouts, a Gold Award recipient, and am currently registered with Girl Scouts of Western Washington. I can facilitate nearly any Brownie level badge and can do a fair number of the Junior, Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador level badges as well, especially in the arts, writing, and self-development areas. I can do these virtually or in-person, and will happily work within your troop’s budget.

Editing

If you need copyediting…that’s not me. I love helping people with their developmental or substantive editing, but you definitely want someone else doing your grammar and typo checks. I’m also happy to help in your development and drafting phase of writing specifically.

Publishing

Want to figure out how to publish a book yourself? I can help you do that. I’ve done a lot of work in the self-publishing space and would be happy to guide you through the process yourself.

Graphic & Book Design

Designing books is a deeply satisfying process, which is why I do the design for all of my books, including their covers. I’ve won a couple awards for my work and am happy to sit down with you and talk through the process for putting together your own books. Prices depend on extent of services and length of book.

Dungeon Master

Looking for something different for your next get together? How about playing some Dungeons and Dragons! I am adept at instructing groups new to the game, or running adventures for hardened characters. Prices vary depending on whether you want me to run one of my pre-built adventures or whether you are requesting a custom adventure. I can also run games in the Coyote and Crow or Monster of the Week game systems.

Types of events I’ve run games for in the past:

  • Birthday Parties for youth or adults (minimum age of 8, maximum age of…nah, you’re never too old)
  • Bachelor/Bachelorette parties
  • Corporate Team Building
  • Nonprofit fundraisers (these get a discount)

Appearances

If you would like me to make an appearance as an author for a talk, event, or book club, I will happily do so for the sole compensation of travel (gas or flight/hotel). If you would like to hire me to Emcee an event, costs start at $200 depending on the event.
